Academy Director | Ron Henry:

Originally from Ireland, Ron Henry is a product of the prestigious Leinster Schools & Club rugby system.
His playing career spanned over 20 years, during which he featured in both the Leinster League and the All-Ireland League, most notably with Greystones RFC. He also represented Blackrock College RFC and enjoyed a brief playing stint in South Africa.
Ron’s rugby journey took him across Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales, gaining valuable experience at various levels of the game.
Following a long and committed playing career, injury eventually led him to transition into coaching — a move that proved to be a natural fit.
He began his coaching journey at Ampthill & District Community Rugby Club, where he spent 14 years developing players from junior levels through to the Academy.
His emphasis on long-term player development and creating a positive learning environment helped shape many young athletes during his time there.
In 2024, Ron joined Bletchley Rugby Club as part of the Senior Men’s coaching team. He has recently changed roles in 2025 and now leads the Academy (U16–U18), bringing his wealth of playing and coaching experience to help nurture the next generation of rugby talent.
Senior Coach | Oliver Whitmore
Oliver Whitmore has been part of Bletchley Rugby Club for over 20 years, having first joined at the age of 11 and remained closely involved ever since.
He played across the club’s 3rd, 2nd, and 1st XVs, including during a spell at Level 5 — a competitive period in the club’s history. While studying at Nottingham Trent University, Oliver played in the second-highest BUCS division for the 1st XV side and played a large role in a successful 2nd XV side.
During his time at university, he was fortunate to be coached by Neil Fowkes (former Nottingham RFC Head Coach and now scrum coach at Leicester Tigers) and David Ellis at Bletchley, an experienced defence coach who worked at international level with France, England, and Georgia. Their guidance played an important role in shaping his approach to the game.
In 2019/20, Oliver returned to Bletchley in a coaching role with the senior men’s team, before later rejoining the playing squad during the club’s promotion-winning season back to Level 7. An injury brought his playing involvement to a close, but he remained active behind the scenes.
He also serves as Vice Chair, working with others to support the club’s growth, development, and long-term vision along with coaching.

Coach | Jordan Murray
Jordan has been a member of the club for 17 years since he was 10 years-old. He began his rugby journey progressing through the junior section to become a senior member of the men’s section and regular 1st XV player.
Throughout his adult career, Jordan has won a number of awards and accolades as a player in the men’s section including 1st XV player of the year 22/23, Clubman 24/25 and was an integral part of the squad that gained the club’s promotion to level 7. Amongst his club honours, Jordan also gained county representation playing for Bucks County representation in the U18 to U20 age groups.
The 2025/2026 is Jordan’s second season as a coach and he is keen to learn under new academy head coach Ron. Jordan is very excited to grow what will become the future of the men’s section and see the development of players who will be making a similar path to him through the club.
