Your child’s safety, enjoyment, and development are at the heart of everything we do at Bletchley Rugby Club. We take our responsibilities seriously to ensure every player has the best possible experience.
- Qualified Coaches:
Every age group has at least one RFU Level 1 qualified coach, with many also working towards or holding higher-level coaching qualifications. This means sessions are structured, engaging, and tailored to the needs of different age groups — from our youngest players learning the basics of ball handling to older age groups developing advanced game skills.- Ongoing Training for Coaches:
Our coaches regularly attend RFU development courses and workshops covering not only rugby coaching techniques but also areas like player welfare, inclusivity, and positive behaviour management. This ensures our coaching remains up-to-date with best practices across the sport.- DBS & Safeguarding:
All of our coaches and volunteers are DBS-checked (Disclosure and Barring Service) to ensure they meet the highest standards of suitability for working with children. Additionally, every coach is trained in RFU safeguarding procedures, and we have a dedicated Club Safeguarding Officer who oversees all welfare matters. Our Safeguarding Officer, Siân can be contacted via email on safeguarding@bletchleyrugby.com- First Aid & Injury Management:
Each age group has a qualified first aider present at every training session and match. In addition, we maintain well-equipped first aid kits and have clear emergency procedures in place. Should an injury occur, our team can respond quickly and effectively, ensuring the player receives the right care and support.- Player-Centred Environment:
Our sessions are designed not only to improve rugby skills but also to help children develop confidence, resilience, and teamwork. We want every player to leave training feeling accomplished and part of the team, regardless of their ability level.- Safe & Welcoming Spaces:
Training sessions are structured to provide a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. We actively encourage positive behaviour, respect for others, and a culture where every child feels valued.
By combining qualified coaching, rigorous safeguarding measures, and a player-focused approach, we create an environment where your child can thrive both on and off the pitch.
