The fixture marks the long-awaited return of Vets rugby to the club, bringing together a number of familiar faces and former players for an invitational match against our local rivals.
The Mark Sharp Invitational Vets will be led by Coach Alban Turney and Manager Paul Allen, who have been working to bring the side together ahead of Saturday’s fixture.
For many involved, it will be an opportunity to pull on the Bletchley shirt once again, reunite with former teammates and help establish the foundations for the return of Vets rugby at Manor Fields.
A Full Afternoon of Rugby at Manor Fields
The Vets fixture will kick off at 12:00pm, providing the perfect curtain-raiser to the afternoon’s rugby, with Bletchley’s 1st XV hosting Amersham & Chiltern II’s later in the day.
Supporters are encouraged to arrive early, get behind the invitational side and make the most of a full afternoon at the club.
Premium Pitchside BBQ
There will also be plenty happening off the pitch, with an award-winning chef preparing a premium pitchside BBQ for supporters to enjoy throughout the afternoon.
The menu will feature a selection of freshly prepared dishes, including Trufflehouse Wagyu burgers, a medley of chicken wings, mac ‘n’ cheese pots and charred sweetcorn slaw.
It’s a step up from the traditional rugby club BBQ and another reason to arrive early, enjoy some lunch and settle in for an afternoon of rugby.
The Ankle Tap Bar will also be open throughout the afternoon, giving players, former members and supporters an opportunity to catch up and enjoy the occasion.
