Leadership Change in Bletchley Rugby Academy

Leadership Change in Bletchley Rugby Academy

Tom Sharp16 Mar - 18:00

Jordan Murray appointed Director of Academy Rugby as Ron Henry steps down after launching the club’s Academy programme.

Bletchley Rugby Club has announced a change in leadership within its Academy structure, with Ron Henry stepping down as Director of Academy Rugby.

Ron joined the club in 2024 and quickly became an important part of the rugby programme, initially working alongside Head of Rugby Paul Allen and senior coaches Darron and Brett within the Senior Men’s setup. During his time at Manor Fields, Ron played a key role in developing the club’s player pathway and was instrumental in launching Bletchley’s Academy Programme.

Alongside this, Ron also led the coaching of the club’s U16 side, helping to strengthen the development route for young players progressing towards senior rugby.

Beyond his coaching work, Ron has also contributed significantly to the club’s wider ambitions. He has been closely involved with Project Enigma, supporting the planning and development work around potential new pitches and improved facilities that form part of the club’s long-term vision.

Head of Rugby Paul Allen paid tribute to Ron’s contribution:
Ron has made a huge contribution to the club in a relatively short space of time. From helping with the senior setup to launching our Academy and leading the U16s programme, he has played a major role in strengthening the pathway for young players at Bletchley.

His work around Project Enigma and the long-term development of our facilities has also been invaluable. On behalf of everyone at the club I’d like to thank Ron for everything he has done and wish him the very best going forward.”

Taking over the role with immediate effect, and leading the programme into the 2026/27 season, will be Jordan Murray.

Jordan is already a familiar figure around Manor Fields as a current 1st XV player and coach, and will now step into the Director of Academy Rugby role while continuing to work alongside the existing coaching cohort.

With a strong understanding of the club’s culture, players and development pathway, Jordan is well placed to build on the foundations already established and continue driving the growth of the Academy programme.

The club looks forward to seeing the Academy continue to develop under his leadership as Bletchley Rugby Club strengthens its pathway for the next generation of Maroon & White players.
