Delicious Pies and Cup Victory Make a Perfect Saturday at The Manor

Tom Sharp29 Oct - 07:31

Another proud day for Bletchley Rugby Club – both on and off the pitch.

This weekend saw another memorable afternoon at The Manor, as over 60 guests joined us for a sold-out pre-match lunch ahead of our Counties Cup knockout fixture. On the menu were delicious chicken, ham and leek pies supplied by Pollards Butchers - a local favourite based just a few minutes down the road in Newton Longville. Check out their website and all they have to offer by clicking here!

The homemade pies proved a huge hit, hearty and full of flavour, perfectly complementing a lively afternoon of rugby and camaraderie. The clubhouse atmosphere built beautifully throughout lunch, with more supporters arriving pre-match to soak up the buzz before kick-off.

On the field, the 1st XV delivered an outstanding performance, running out 39–19 winners to book their place in the last 16 of the competition. The victory capped off a brilliant day, both on and off the pitch, and showcased the spirit of community that makes Bletchley Rugby Club so special.

A big thank you goes to Rhianne in the kitchen for her fantastic work preparing and serving the food, and to Orlaine and her bar team for ensuring everyone was well looked after throughout the day. We also took the opportunity to introduce our new Vice Presidents’ Concierge, Emily – partner of one of our 1st XV players – who will be a familiar face on match days and a dedicated point of contact for our growing VP community.

Events like these truly highlight the club’s “One Club” ethos, bringing together players, members, supporters and local partners to celebrate everything that makes our club so unique. A special thanks once again to Pollards Butchers for their outstanding local produce – the pies were a real highlight and will no doubt be remembered for many match days to come.

Keep an eye out for details of our next pre-match lunch – it’s certainly one not to be missed.
