Counties Cup Clash at The Manor

Counties Cup Clash at The Manor

Tom Sharp22 Oct - 16:00

A first-time meeting and the opportunity to keep the Cup Dream alive.

Cup rugby returns to Manor Fields this Saturday as Bletchley’s 1st XV host Leicester Forest in Round Two of the RFU Counties 1 Cup. After a strong home performance against Chinnor III last weekend, the boys in maroon and white will be looking to build on that momentum and carry their winning mentality into cup competition.

With a growing buzz around the squad and plenty of confidence following recent performances, there’s every reason to expect another full-hearted display from this close-knit group who continue to show steady progress under Chief Rugby Office Paul Allen, and his strong coaching team!

Building Momentum at The Manor
Back-to-back home fixtures have given Bletchley the perfect platform to strengthen their rhythm and consistency. Last weekend’s strong performance against a well drilled and resilient Chinnor side highlighted the team’s grit in defence and creativity in attack - qualities that will be vital against new opposition in cup competition.

With the home crowd behind them, the 1st XV will be eager to continue their run of form, showcasing the determination, skill, and team spirit that have been growing week by week.

A First-Time Encounter
Despite both sides’ deep rugby roots, this will be the first-ever meeting between Bletchley and Leicester Forest (that we can locate), adding an extra spark to an already exciting fixture. With no previous history to draw upon, both clubs will go into Saturday’s game with everything to play for and a place in the next round of the competition at stake.

Cup rugby is known for its intensity and unpredictability - and with both sides keen to make their mark, it promises to be a gripping contest from the first whistle to the last.

The Cup Trail Continues
The RFU Counties 1 Cup offers the perfect stage for ambitious community clubs to test themselves against fresh opposition from across the regions. It’s a competition that rewards teamwork, resilience, and composure under pressure - all qualities that this Bletchley squad have been steadily refining throughout the season.

Paul Allen and his coaching team will be encouraging the players to stick to their patterns, trust their systems, and play the expansive brand of rugby that’s becoming a hallmark of this evolving side.

Join Us at Manor Fields
Kick-off is 2:30pm this Saturday, the 25th October, at Manor Fields, and supporters are encouraged to make their way down early to soak up the atmosphere and back the boys as they go in search of cup progression.

With a special pre match lunch that has sold out taking place, the bar open, and the unmistakable buzz of a big game day at The Manor, it’s shaping up to be another fantastic Saturday of rugby.

Go well, lads – and come on Bletchley!
