Bletchley Rugby Club is delighted to confirm that Jess Fletcher and Ellen Draper will lead the Women’s squad into the 2025/26 season as co-captains. This dynamic partnership brings together experience, energy, and a shared passion for driving the team forward both on and off the field.

Jess Fletcher
Jess steps into the co-captaincy following a successful year as vice-captain, where she gained valuable insight into the leadership role. With a wealth of on-pitch experience, she’s eager to build on the progress made in recent seasons.

Jess has been a key part of Bletchley Women for several seasons, earning respect for her work rate, game awareness, and ability to lead by example. Comfortable in multiple positions, she’s known for her commitment in defence and her calm decision-making under pressure. Her experience and composure make her a natural leader for the squad.
On her appointment, we spoke to Jess who said “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to be your co-captain this season alongside Ellen! Last season as vice gave me a small taste for the role and I’m really looking forward to bringing to it my on-pitch experience. Building on the last few years and growing together as a squad.”

Ellen Draper
Joining Jess at the helm, Ellen brings creativity, enthusiasm, and a focus on team cohesion. Her vision for the season includes fostering a strong bond within the squad while introducing fresh ideas to keep the environment positive, competitive, and enjoyable.

Ellen is recognised for her energy and positivity on the field, coupled with a natural ability to motivate those around her. Her versatility and strong communication skills have made her an influential figure in the squad. Known for leading from the front in both effort and attitude, Ellen embodies the spirit and ambition of Bletchley Women.

Ellen said “I’m very excited for this opportunity to lead the team alongside Jess. I’m hoping to bring some new fun ideas to the team and really focus on building a strong and well bonded team. Watching how far the guys have come makes me very excited to lead the team into a new era of women’s rugby at Bletchley.”
