Bletchley Rugby Club is delighted to announce the Academy leadership team for the upcoming 2025/26 season. Taking on the role of captain is I. Wood, with L. Simmonds stepping up as vice-captain.
These appointments recognise not only their playing ability but also their dedication, positive attitude, and the respect they have earned from both coaches and teammates.
Captain – I. Wood
Wood has been a standout performer within the Academy setup, combining natural talent with an impressive work ethic. Known for leading by example, he consistently puts in the effort at training and in matches, setting high standards for those around him. His strong communication skills, tactical awareness, and willingness to take responsibility make him a natural choice to wear the captain’s armband.
Vice-Captain – L. Simmonds
As vice-captain, Simmonds brings energy, encouragement, and a positive mindset to the team. Always ready to support his teammates, he is respected for his commitment and ability to lift the squad during challenging moments. His leadership on the field is matched by his professionalism off it, making him an excellent role model for the rest of the Academy team.
The season ahead
With I. Wood and L. Simmonds at the helm, the Academy are in strong hands for the new season which will bring new and upcoming challenges for the Academy. Both players have shown maturity beyond their years and a deep understanding of what it means to represent Bletchley Rugby Club.
As the squad prepares for another competitive campaign, the focus will be on developing skills, building team unity, and striving for excellence in every performance. The leadership duo will play a key role in driving that ambition and ensuring every player feels part of the team’s journey.
