Volunteer of the Month
In order to recognise the time and effort put into the club by the numerous volunteers involved in the operation of the Club, Bletchley have introduced the "Valuing the Volunteer" scheme. Full details (including a nomination form) can be found in the Downloads area, and the list covering the latest award winners can be found below!

Sue Punter - Facilities sub-committee member
"Facilities sub-committee member" may be Sue's official position, but the title definitely understates the role that she has voluntarily taken on since the rugby club took over responsibility for the operation of the clubhouse last summer. "Jack of all trades, master of many " would be more appropriate. You name it, she does it, and we couldn't do without her contribution.

Mike Chapman - U15 coach/ administrator, "Webman", Active Sports Coordinator, Mini/Junior Forum Chair, Club Committee Youth Rep
As you will be aware, the Club received in December 2003 official notification of the Active Sports Seal of Approval accreditation. This is a terrific achievement, particularly as Bletchley is only one of a few clubs to receive this at this time.
When notification was made and the announcement distributed, a number of people contacted me expressing congratulations to all those involved in making this happen. In particular, I received acknowledgements of Mike's role in this. He has been the focal point and driving force behind the achievement,, which can only help the club to progress across the board - not just with the Minis & Juniors.

Hillary Harman - Mini/Junior Catering Team (etc!)
Since the start of the season Hillary (mother of U12 George/U-15 Philip and wife of U-12 Coach Geoff) has been one of the hard-working volunteers who have kept the Mini, Midi and Junior players (and their parents) fed and watered on Sundays. Hillary has played a key role within the catering team, and like others has also done more than her fair share of cleaning before and after training and home matches! As a footnote it's worth adding that the Mini/Junior food has been self-financing this season, adding to the benefit that Hillary and the other half-dozen volunteers have provided.

Ian Punter - Seniors Fixture Secretary, County Representative, Referees' Liaison, Kit & Equipment Coordinator, U10 Coach, etc, etc, etc
The list of roles that Ian successfully performs just about says it all, but it is worth mentioning that Ian stepped in at the end of September to take on the U-10s following the departure of their Squad Coach. At the time there was a real risk that the team would be lost, but Ian and Paul Morrison kept things going. New players have joined the squad, and things are definitely 'on the up'!

Dave Bolger, U-8 Coach & Youth Section Coach Registration Officer
David has done a cracking job over the last couple of years coaching Touch and TAG rugby with the youngest players, and his efforts to get the coaches CRB checked and on the right courses (RFU Coaching Awards, First Aid, Child Protection etc) have been tremendous. Work is taking David back to Ireland in November, and he will be greatly missed by his squad, and by the club as a whole.
