We know some of you are too young but we could do with a few more players for the annual Vets game against Milton Keynes in memory of Justin Hales.
The more players we have the more rest we get.
The match is being played this Sunday, 29th August at Manor Fields, kick off at 3pm coinciding with Party on the Pitch and the beer festival as usual.
Anyone over 35 is eligible and there is no upper age limit.
As usual, this will be a fun game and the result is not important as long as we win! It is Milton Keynes after all.
Please let Derek Nye or Nick Revell know if you want to play (or just turn up with your boots).

This year, Party on the Pitch will be all about the rugby!
While plans are afoot this year for fun events and deals are being done to ensure an ample supply of liquid refresment, this year's focus is well and trully our "beautiful game".
On Thursday, the 1st XV will be hosting a pre-season trial game.
Friday Night sees a 70s/80s Disco.
On Saturday, an all-day Colts festival will see 20 or more teams in action at Manor Fields. (And there's a parents-v-children Tag match.)
And on Sunday, the athletic quality may did but the enthuasism will be there for the annual Justin Hales memorial Vets match with Milton Keynes.
Throughout the event, the marquee will be open selling various beers and hosting the Guitar Hero competition.
There will also be various stalls operated by members of the junior section providing other diversions (golf competition, sweet stall, tombola and many others).
In addition to this, we are very interested to hear from any acoustic acts that would like to play either on Saturday or Sunday (or both!). Please contact

Bletchley Rugby Club is currently negociating an agreement with the gym at the new Bletchley Leisure Centre to obtain a preferential corporate rate.
Usually a 12 month contract membership is £35 per month; under a corporate agreement it would be reduced too £28 per month, saving £96 per year per member.
To secure the corporate deal we need 10 members of the rugby club, including parents of junior members to join the gym. If you are already a member at Bletchley Leisure Centre you can still qualify for this and your rate will be reduced by £7 a month from your next direct debit.
To enable me to co-ordinate the Corporate Membership I need to know whether anyone at the rugby club is already a member at the gym.
Please can you email me,

After a short break following a hard 2009/2010 season, Bletchley Rugby Club will be commencing their preseason senior training at the attractive Manor Fields location, South of Fenny Stratford, on Tuesday 6th July at 7.30pm. All players, both new and current, experienced and brand new to the game, are welcome to attend as the coaching staff will be accommodating the experience and knowledge of all players turning up so as to develop the abilities of all players and strengthen our various senior sides.
The club’s 1st XV has retained its position in the South West 1 East league, which is level 6, and intends to do even better than last season’s final position. The club’s highly qualified head coach, Pat Jerram, said “We are a young squad who are learning all the time and whilst some mature, experienced players would be welcomed, particularly in the forwards, to boost the senior ranks, there is great enthusiasm amongst the players”.
The Club is continuing to welcome new players into the various sides and new players to the area are urged to come along to meet the coaches and captains and see what a friendly club Bletchley is. Plans have already been passed for a major extension to its clubhouse and with floodlights on two pitches ready for next season, a successful U18s Saturday Colts side together with some 200 minis/ juniors taking the field on a Sunday, Bletchley are looking to a very bright future.
For more information, including directions, look at the club website www.bletchleyrugby.com or contact Don Griffiths on 01908 607409 or 07919 176766 for any of the sides – senior,Colts, minis/juniors. |
